GArry,
Just checking on how you and your wife are. She is very pretty.
You ever hear from k.j. Planet. All the officers on the Seattle 72-74 had class.
Thanks,
Paul Carr, yeoman

This is yeoman 3rd., paul d. Carr. I was on the Seattle, 1972-1974. I am trying to get a United States family recognition, as my Dad was WWII/pacific on a LST. My oldest was on the USS FORRESTAL in the tokin Gulf when it went up in flames. He helped bring below deck sailors topside. I'm having a heck of a time in anyone remembering my body rescue of Randolph Perry Ealey. I dove off the yardarm twice, after the second time I swam to the 50' footer. Looked off the port bow saw a body sinking and immeadetly dove and swam to Ealey. He was about 8'under, I got him to the top of the Atlantic, switched arms to swim with him and doing so noticed his eyes were open and fixed, with foam coming from his nose and mouth. I swam with him in the 3-4' swells until I was about to give out. At that time one person relieved me. I need written confirmation of this. Either on this website, or my email; tcarr66061@aol.com. Also if any idea how to contact Ealey's family. Thanks, Paul D. Carr
Rick Richardson,
How can I contact Ealey's family.

Yeoman, '72-74
Rick, how do I find oi chandlers phone or email address. I was the first one to Ealey after he drowned. I saw someone sinking off the port bow of the 50 footer. I got him topside and swam with him topside until someone relieved me. I'm guessing oi chandler. I need chandlers recollection. Yeoman paul d. Carr, north alabama

Steve,
You may correct about a taxi incident on the 73-74, med cruise. I remember we were told not to wear our dress blues on liberty in barcelona. I think it was barcelona but I could not swear to that. Vietnam was basically over. Had to be a reason the locals weren't happy with us. I'm still illness ridden. Can't seem to shake it.

Tom,
Please relay to your wife her attaining a doctorate is (no pun), very admirable. I know you and the children are proud. How's life for you? Is real estate in your part of the country back, and banks willing to cooperate with interest rates reflecting today's overnight rates? Turning paper is very close to illegal drug margins, if not better. Thanks for your reflection of the Seattle's participation in yon kippor. (sp?) Paul Carr

Richard, and members of the 73 Med cruise. Does anyone know where we were after we left Crete for the Yom Kimpour (sp?), war. The seven day war. Where we off the coast of Turkey? or another middle east country.
thanks,

Richard,
Do you know Ealey's hometown? or any of his family? I would like for them to know people cared enough to risk their own lives to try to save him.
