The crew of USS Seattle gave their best during her 36 years of service to the United States Navy.  These men and women were on call for sometimes as long as 36 to 48 hours while refueling and replenishing the fleet and our allies making sure they had everything they needed from fuel oil to pencils and weapons to fresh fruits and vegetables while deployed.  Seattle sailed on 20 such deployments as well as many shorter operations in the south.  The crew needed rest and relaxation periodically to be able to keep up that frantic pace.
