Retired from the Navy in Nov. 1996. Obtained Merchant Marine Chief Engineer License (Unlimited Oceans) and sailed with Edison Chouest Offshore for about 4 years. Sailed as CHENG on container ship out of Singapore. Currently working as an Engineering Tech for MARMC in Norfolk.

Ship Story:

Ran a nut halfway up my left index finger with an air impact wrench during heavy seas while putting 1A boiler back together. Doc numbed my finger and I watched him unscrew the nut from my finger. The ribbing I took from my fellow Chiefs in the mess was relentless as you could imagine.
