Guantánamo Bay Tapes 1970
The following 4 files are digitized copies of real-to-real recordings made in 1970 American Forces Radio - Guantanamo Bay. The USS Seattle was doing it 1st underway training after commissioning in Bremerton in 1968. The DJ at American Forces Radio - Guantanamo Bay would stop and start a real-to-real recorder provided by the ship and made 18 recorded tapes.
I believe they were played nonstop on our return home from Cuba over the ships sound system.
In 2009 they were recorded as MP3 files and now are available for your enjoyment and remembrance of that time.
