Chuck was one of the most cheerful, fun loving characters I have ever met. His early passing is a great loss for his family and friends. Hugh Primrose

Chuck was just a great guy. I remember so many good times onboard the ship as well as off the ship in the many liberty ports and homeport. We were good friends and stayed in touch with each other over the years. I will miss his happy-go-lucky nature and true friendship.

While serving aboard the Seattle, Chuck and I became good friends. During our time together, I don't think I ever saw Chuck without a smile on his face. He was one of warmest, most-friendly and good-natured people I've ever known. Although I haven't seen Chuck since my discharge in May 1975, he's always been considered a lifetime friend. His passing leaves an empty place in my heart, but I know it's Heaven's gain.

Chuck was a great guy and good friend while I was aboard the Seattle. He and McBaine, two Kenosha friends and always with life and merriment each day. Chuck was a good freind to have at Virgina Beach. I am blessed to have know him.
